5 Senses of Istanbul

TWIN is a bookshelf representing the two sides of Istanbul, Asian and European and the bridges connecting them.

Impact references Istanbul accepting very different beings in itself and six same sized pieces emphasizes that these beings are valued and embraced equally.

A doormat designed for the insider part of thresholds, aimed at alerting the passenger in the sense that he is doing something special: Passing a threshold!

A swinging sitting unit mused by Istanbul, the Bosphorus, two sides facing each other, the ships on Bosphorus, from coming and going, swaying and from cradle.

Overlapping one way vision polygons create a dynamic fluid texturized aurora, a dynamic gestalt in translucency; where people create digital graffitis.

Inspired by the small stools the tradesmen use in front of their stores and the unique "crouching" movement of Turks; LOWLINE is a low sitting unit.

BELIPS aroused from crowns. As its shape consists of blue to white ellipses inside each other, it gives a feeling of transformation and motion.

The cultural accumulations of Istanbul are the potential energy leaking through the disorder, fast lives, concrete mass and the crowd of people.

IST came out by using the disorder of Istanbul to create order and resulted in a storing unit which stores different stories in it like Istanbul does.

With FLOW I tried to reflect the dynamic view of the people walking and passing each other in the crowded streets of Istanbul to the shape.

7HILLS is a sitting unit with 7 little foots (hills) which keeps you awake like Istanbul, not guarantying your balance but fun when you get in harmony with it.

Istanbul shelters countless antagonisms in harmony. While these differences protect their purity, they also can be transformed to each other and enrich themselves.

Expandable tea tray. Transforming when needed, leaving space to the other making mobility easier.

5 segments represent the civilizations lived in Istanbul. The segments are set parallel onto each other. The basic idea is that the light reaches outside from these segments getting purified.
